SFU Library food and drink policies
WAC Bennett Library (SFU Burnaby - main campus)
In order to provide as welcoming an environment as possible but avoid excessive cleaning costs and possible damage to Library materials and computers, the Bennett Library and Academic Computing Services have established the following policy:Food and drink may be brought into the Library under the following guidelines:
- Drinks are permitted in closed, spillproof travel mugs or pull top plastic bottles. Disposable cups with lids and other containers are not acceptable.
- Food such as sandwiches, chocolate bars, or fruit may be consumed in the group study rooms and large study room on Floor 2.
- Packaged food may be brought in by staff to be consumed in staff areas.
Please deposit your empty food and beverage containers in waste receptacles located near stairwells and in the group study rooms in order to continue to provide a comfortable environment for others and to ensure that limited Library dollars are spent on improved services.
Belzberg Library (SFU Vancouver)
In order to provide a welcoming and comfortable environment for everyone, but avoid excessive cleaning costs, possible damage to Library materials and computers, and disturbance to other patrons, Belzberg Library has established the following Food and Drink Policy:
- Drinks are permitted in covered containers
- Eating or open food is not permitted
- Food and drink may be brought in by staff to be consumed in staff areas.
Please deposit your empty beverage containers and garbage in waste receptacles provided and report any spills or damage to library staff.
